A brunch refers to a meal that is taken in the late morning between breakfast and lunch. It is eaten to act as a replacement for both breakfast and lunch. Typically, this meal is eaten when one wakes up too late in late morning so that they combine breakfast and lunch together. Besides eating the meal because one has woken up late, one may also plan to take the meal at that time.

The first two letter of the name brunch are the first two letter of the name breakfast while the last three letters come from the work lunch. Brunch in Colorado is considered a typical and common meal in which residents have a habit of engaging in. Although the meal is very popular in the US, it owes its origin to British college students. An article in Punch magazine states that the term was first used by students as a slang in 1896.

Mostly, people take brunches when they have engaged in form kind of activity during the morning. Also, the meal may be taken prior to engaging in some activity during the afternoon. Sporting events and weddings are among the activities that people engage in before or after taking brunches. The meal is considered to be appropriate for informal celebrations because it is very relaxing. The popularity of this meal is growing fast worldwide.

Brunch as a meal has been promoted through films. There are several movies that talk about the meal or have people taking it. There are also several hotels and restaurants in Colorado and the rest of the United States that serve brunches to customer. The meal is more commonly served on holidays and weekends. They are served in the form of serve-yourself buffets. Besides buffets, the meals may also be taken as menu-ordered meals.

Standard breakfast foods are usually comprised in brunches. Some of the foods includes are sausages, eggs, pastries, bacon, pancakes, fruits, and ham. Other foods prepared during the day may also be included. Buffets are usually characterized by soups, huge roasts of poultry/meat, smoked fish, vegetable dishes, deserts, cold seafood, and salads.

Chinese restaurants in Colorado include several kinds of food items in the brunches they prepare. The foods include are prepared through methods such as stuffing, deep-frying, steaming, roasting, and cooking. The foods are supplied to people the restaurant on carts so that people pick what they want.

When the carts run empty, they are taken back to the kitchen to be resupplied with food and the same cycle continues. The foods continue to be made by the kitchen staff until no more is needed. Anyone who takes part in the buffet usually pays a given fixed amount regardless of how much they eat.
